To use AI safely, companies should first discover how it is already used, then approve specific tools and write a short acceptable use policy that clearly states which data (personal data, client secrets, financial data, source code) must never be entered.
- Risks: data leakage, shadow AI, confident but wrong outputs, oversharing through assistants connected to company files, prompt injection, intellectual property questions and more convincing phishing.
- Controls: enterprise accounts with single sign-on and MFA, data classification, fixing file permissions before connecting assistants, DLP rules, blocking unapproved tools and logging usage.
- Human review: every output that reaches customers, the public or decisions must be checked by a responsible person.
- Data protection: assess legal basis, notices, cross-border transfers and automated decisions under KVKK.
Train staff with short, example-based sessions and review the policy regularly. ISO/IEC 42001 provides a management system framework for AI governance. Racurity offers ISO 42001 consulting, DLP and digital transformation advisory.
