Güneysınır sits on the Konya–Karaman provincial border, west of the Konya–Karaman highway, between Çumra, Hadim and Bozkır. The district was formed in 1990, but ancient mounds such as Gaffur and Güdelesin show much older settlement. Vineyards on the Taurus slopes are the main source of income: from mid-September to late October families boil grape molasses, dry “ekşi kara” raisins and sell what they do not keep. Local wheat becomes bulgur and wood-fired bread, and a municipal lavender garden with summer Lavender Days attracts new visitors.
