Kula sits on the black lava fields that the ancient geographer Strabo called Katakekaumene, the burnt land. Since 2013 the area has been a UNESCO Global Geopark, with scoria cones, lava tubes, basalt columns and the hoodoos locals call Kuladokya. The town is also known for its Ottoman-era houses and its carpet and kilim weaving.

Racoun has been based in Ataşehir, Istanbul, since 2012 and has no office in Kula. We work through video meetings, screen sharing and our client panel, and visit for planned shoots. The first meeting is free and we take no media commission.
