A server, VPS or dedicated server is the compute, memory and storage reserved for your website, application or business systems in a data center. A VPS is a virtualized slice of a powerful physical host with its own operating system and allocated resources; a dedicated server gives you the whole physical machine. Pedante Bilişim, the technology arm of Racoun, delivers these as a managed service under the Racurity brand, so we do not just hand over a machine: we plan, secure and operate it.
What the service includes
- Capacity planning: vCPU, RAM, NVMe/SSD storage and network sized from real measurements, with a growth plan.
- OS installation and hardening: minimal installs, key-based SSH, disabled direct root login, default-deny firewall rules, management access behind VPN or IP restrictions, scheduled patching.
- Monitoring: CPU, memory, disk usage and latency, service health and certificate expiry with alerting.
- Backups: a 3-2-1 approach with an off-site copy, agreed RPO and RTO targets and regular restore tests. Snapshots and RAID are not treated as backups.
- Scaling: vertical upgrades and, where the application allows, horizontal scaling behind a load balancer.
- Turkey location: infrastructure from Turkish data centers of our expert solution partners, offering lower latency for local users and simpler data residency discussions under KVKK.

A VPS suits most workloads that need flexibility and fast scaling. Dedicated servers fit heavy disk I/O, licensing constraints or strict hardware isolation. We recommend based on measured workload.
