Impressions and clicks your pages receive in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are counted in the Search Console performance report under the Web search type, together with classic results. Search Console also offers a separate report on performance in generative AI features; its name and scope may change, so check Google’s current help documentation.
- Position: links inside an AI Overview take the position of the overview block, so you cannot read your rank within the summary.
- Click-through rate: a lower rate on question-style queries is expected and is not a failure on its own.
- Practical steps: filter question queries, compare periods before and after 18 February 2026 (the Turkish rollout), review pages with rising impressions but flat clicks and combine the data with analytics.
- Limits: Search Console does not show unlinked brand mentions, answer accuracy or visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot.
