An exhibition lasts a few weeks, but its digital presence can last for years. This guide outlines how galleries can plan exhibitions online and manage collector relationships with more care.
Plan in three phases
Announce the show weeks ahead with a short page and offer collectors a private preview. During the show add opening photos, installation views and events. Afterwards move the page to a permanent archive with works list and press.
Prepare images and captions
Colour-accurate photography, detail shots, images that show scale and multiple angles for sculpture build trust online. Use a consistent caption structure and offer both a curatorial text and a short introduction.
Manage the collector list
Segment by interest, record enquiries, write less but better, and collect proper consent for invitations and newsletters.
Answer enquiries well
Reply the same day with extra images, condition and delivery options; a short video call can show the work live.
Measure
Track enquiries per exhibition, viewing room visits, invitation open rates and organic visits to archive pages.
