Hosting is the invisible layer that carries your website, yet it is often chosen on price and disk space alone. Shared hosting splits one server among many customers and suits small personal sites. A VPS gives you dedicated virtual resources and more control, but also more responsibility for updates and security. A dedicated server offers a whole physical machine, while cloud hosting draws on a resource pool that scales quickly, useful for e-commerce peaks but needing cost control. Managed hosting is a service model on top of any of these: setup, patching, security, backups and monitoring are handled by a professional team.
Before comparing offers, define your traffic profile, data sensitivity, tolerance for downtime and data loss, and in-house skills. Then check allocated CPU and memory, SSD or NVMe storage, off-site and tested backups, patching responsibility, WAF and DDoS protection, two-factor admin access, SSL renewal, data location for KVKK, and whether the account is registered to your company. Avoid trusting “unlimited” plans, never skip the backup question and keep business email on separate infrastructure.
