Packaging design starts with a clear brief and an analysis of the product, the audience and the shelf or online context in which it will be sold.
- Write the brief: product, audience, channels, price segment and mandatory information.
- Study the shelf and competitors to find room for differentiation.
- Choose materials and format, and obtain the dieline before designing.
- Build an information hierarchy: brand, product name, variant, key benefit, then mandatory details.
- Develop alternatives, test them with full-size mock-ups and have label requirements checked by an expert.
- Prepare print-ready files and approve a press proof before production.
Avoid cluttered front panels, ignoring colour shifts in print and designing without a product-family system. Racoun handles packaging strategy, design, mock-ups and print follow-up together with product photography.
