Most website edits are made through the admin panel. Log in with your own account, open the page or post, update the text while keeping the heading structure, upload resized and compressed images with meaningful alt text, check the SEO title and description, preview on desktop and mobile and publish.
Different types of edits need different approaches:
- content changes can be done in the panel,
- structural changes such as new pages or URL changes need 301 redirects,
- design and feature changes need developers, backups and a staging environment.
Common mistakes include uploading oversized photos, faking headings with bold text, editing code directly on the live site, sharing panel passwords and changing URLs without redirects. Racoun delivers its websites with an easy admin panel, and its developers handle design or feature changes in a test environment first.
