Microsoft Copilot grounds its web answers largely in the Bing index, so the first requirement for visibility is that Bingbot can crawl your site and Bing indexes it properly. Copilot appears in browsers, the operating system, mobile apps and office software, which makes it especially relevant for B2B buyers researching suppliers at work.
- Confirm Bingbot is not blocked by robots.txt or security settings.
- Add your site to Bing Webmaster Tools and submit a sitemap.
- Use IndexNow to notify Bing of new or updated pages.
- Keep business listings accurate on Microsoft’s local listings as well as on Google.
- Add Organization, Service and FAQPage structured data and publish crawlable HTML pages instead of PDF-only catalogs.
Hidden text and instructions aimed at AI systems break search engine rules and can harm trust. Visibility cannot be guaranteed: technical setup typically takes 1–2 weeks and changes usually appear in AI answers within 4–12 weeks.
