To integrate a virtual POS, you first obtain your merchant ID, API keys and test environment access from the bank or payment institution. Then the payment request, 3D Secure redirect, success and failure return URLs, cancellations and refunds are coded into your site.
- Decide between a hosted payment page and an in-site API form.
- Store credentials securely on the server, never in the browser.
- Sign requests and verify the signature of every response before confirming an order.
- Add transaction status queries to prevent lost orders and double charges.
- Connect full and partial refunds to the order screen.
- Show dynamic instalment tables based on the card.
- Test success, insufficient limit, failed 3D, timeout, cancel and refund scenarios.
