Setting up business email is a sequence of provider and DNS steps that must be done in the right order so mail flow is never interrupted.
- Add and verify your domain with the provider using a TXT record.
- Create user and shared mailboxes before switching mail flow.
- Migrate existing mail in stages.
- Update the MX record and remove old MX entries.
- Keep a single SPF record that includes every legitimate sender, enable DKIM signing and start DMARC in monitoring mode.
- Enable multi-factor authentication, configure devices via IMAP or Exchange-based sync, and test delivery and authentication results.
