How do you set up Microsoft 365 for a business?

Setting up Microsoft 365 for a business follows a clear sequence:

1. Choose a licence mix per role and start the subscription; protect the global admin account with MFA.
2. Add and verify your domain with a TXT record.
3. Create users, assign licences and use shared mailboxes for departments.
4. Migrate existing mail (IMAP, cutover, staged or hybrid) before switching MX.
5. Update DNS: MX, SPF, autodiscover, then enable DKIM and start DMARC in monitoring mode.
6. Enable MFA, disable legacy authentication and review filters.
7. Deploy apps, plan Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint structure, train users and plan backup.
