A domain transfer moves management of a domain from one registrar to another without changing the name or the owner. It is different from a change of registrant and from moving hosting.
- Before you start: confirm the company is the registrant, the admin email is reachable, no transfer lock period applies and the domain is not about to expire.
- Back up DNS records and ideally host DNS independently of the transfer so nothing goes down.
- Unlock the domain and get the EPP/auth code from the current registrar.
- Start the transfer at the new registrar, enter the code and approve the confirmation email.
- After completion re-enable the lock, turn on auto-renew and two-factor authentication, and test site and email.
.tr domains are transferred between accredited registrars under TRABİS rules; check the current procedure first. If a former agency holds the domain, ownership must be clarified and legal advice may be needed. Racoun consolidates domains into company accounts and runs transfers without disrupting site or email.
