Content that AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews cite tends to share a few traits: it answers the question in the first sentence, every section makes sense when lifted out of context, claims are verifiable, the author and update date are visible, and the page is kept current.
- Collect the real questions customers ask and open each page and section with the direct answer.
- Write clear definition sentences and keep terminology consistent.
- Use meaningful headings, numbered steps, bullet comparisons and structured data.
- Show who wrote the content and why they are qualified; never invent figures.
- Avoid hidden text and hidden instructions aimed at AI systems; they conflict with spam policies and damage trust.
The GEO research paper presented at KDD 2024 showed that visibility in generative engine answers can be improved with specific methods, and edits that make content more verifiable stood out. Still, no one can guarantee citation: AI answers vary by person, time and wording. After technical work, AI systems usually reflect changes within 4 to 12 weeks. Since Google rolled out AI Overviews and AI Mode in Turkey in February 2026, clear Turkish answers have become more valuable. Racoun builds this into its AI visibility service through audits, Q&A content restructuring, structured data and monthly citation tracking.
