Concert, Exhibition and Content Guide for Music and Art Schools

How to turn student concerts and exhibitions into a year of content, a community event and a way to attract new students.

Student concerts and exhibitions are the most valuable moments in a music or art school’s year. They motivate students, make parents proud and provide tangible proof of quality. This guide shows how to turn them into content, community and new enrolments.

Plan with a goal

Decide whether the event is mainly for student motivation, parent engagement, attracting new students or local visibility. The goal shapes the venue, guest list and content plan.

Before, during and after

  • Three weeks before: publish an event page, share countdown posts and post the event on your Google Business Profile.
  • Consent first: collect written consent from students and parents, and check music copyright before sharing recordings.
  • On the day: follow a shot list covering performances, backstage moments, teacher comments and short testimonials.
  • Afterwards: spread content over several weeks, add a gallery page and invite genuine reviews without incentives.

Build community

Smaller monthly recitals, open studio days and artist talks strengthen loyalty. Track guests, trial lesson requests, content performance and new reviews after each event, and compare formats from term to term to see which events work best for your school.
