What actually drives the cost of a corporate website?

The same brief gets three different prices from three agencies. The difference is rarely in the design — it hides in the scope and in what is actually delivered.

What sets the price of a website?

Five things decide what a corporate website costs: page count and content preparation, how original the design is (ready theme or designed from scratch), technical scope (multiple languages, integrations, custom modules), the platform (a packaged system or custom development; at Racoun every project is coded on our own platform) and post-launch support.

Ready theme or custom design?

A ready theme is fast and cheap — but the brand ends up without a look of its own, and the unused code weighs down the speed score. A custom design takes longer and returns something that matches the brand exactly and carries only the code it needs. The decision has less to do with budget than with where the brand is in its life.

What to check when comparing quotes

  • How many original page designs are included? (repeated templates do not count separately)
  • Is content and copywriting included?
  • Is mobile design handled as its own piece of work?
  • Is there a speed and Core Web Vitals target, and are the measurements shared?
  • Is technical SEO (schema, sitemap, canonicals) in scope?
  • Do you get an admin panel, and training on it?
  • How many rounds of revision?
  • How many months of support after launch?

Where do the hidden costs sit?

The items most often left out: content production (copy, photography, video), stock image licences, translation for multiple languages, hosting and SSL, and maintenance and updates. A quote should say plainly which of these it covers.

How long until launch?

Corporate sites average 3–5 weeks; multilingual projects or ones with custom modules run 6–8 weeks. What stretches a timeline is rarely the agency — it is content preparation and approval delays.

And after launch?

The work does not end when the site goes live. Search Console and Analytics setup, technical monitoring through the first month, regular backups and security updates all need planning. Without a maintenance arrangement a site starts ageing within a few months.
