Brand personality is the set of human characteristics attributed to a brand: warm, expert, bold, calm or playful. It determines how the brand speaks, looks and behaves across every touchpoint.
- Frameworks such as the five personality dimensions (sincerity, excitement, competence, sophistication, ruggedness) and the twelve archetypes help structure the discussion.
- Define it by analysing your audience, company culture and competitors.
- Pick three to five adjectives, each with a “but not” note.
- Write a tone-of-voice guide with do and don’t examples, then translate it into visual language.
Typical mistakes are generic adjectives, applying personality only in ads and changing tone with every trend. Racoun defines personality in workshops and applies it consistently across identity, websites and social media.
