What is remarketing?

Remarketing means showing ads again to people who have already visited your website, used your app or engaged with your content. It is one of the most efficient ways to bring back users who did not decide on the first visit.

Remarketing (often called retargeting) means showing ads again to people who already visited your website, added a product to the cart, watched your video or engaged with your Instagram profile. Most visitors do not buy on the first visit; remarketing brings them back with a message suited to where they left off.

  • How it works: measurement tags such as the Google tag and Meta Pixel, ideally with server-side integration, build audiences from consented visitor data.
  • Audience types: site visitors, cart abandoners, video viewers, social engagers, consented customer lists and app users.
  • Dynamic remarketing: shows the exact products a user viewed, using a product catalog feed.
  • Watch out for: sensitive categories restricted by platform policy, audiences that are too small, ad fatigue, missing exclusions and weak landing pages.

Customer list use falls under Turkish data protection law (KVKK), so confirm details with your lawyer. Racoun sets up tracking, consent management, audiences and creatives within one team.
