What Is the Google Display Network?

The Google Display Network shows your image and banner ads across partner websites, mobile apps, YouTube and Gmail. It reaches people who are not searching and is mainly used for awareness and remarketing.

The Google Display Network places your image, banner and short video ads on partner websites, news portals, blogs, mobile apps, YouTube and Gmail. Instead of keywords typed into search, ads are shown based on content, interests, demographics or previous visits to your site.

  • Main uses: brand awareness, remarketing to past visitors, demand generation and launch announcements.
  • Targeting: audiences (interests, in-market, your own data lists), content (topics, keywords, chosen placements) and optimised targeting.
  • Formats: responsive display ads, uploaded banners and dynamic remarketing for e-commerce.
  • Watch out for: brand safety, low-quality app placements, frequency and the hidden display expansion in search campaigns.

Racoun plans targeting and creative together, producing on-brand visuals and managing placements and reporting within our Google Ads service.
