What Size Should a Logo Be? A Guide for Web, Social Media and Print

There is no single correct logo size; a logo is created as a vector and scaled to each use. On the web readability matters, on social media it must fit a square, and in print the guideline’s minimum size applies.

There is no single correct logo size. A professional logo is built as a vector and exported in the right size and format for each use.

  • Website: size the header logo for readability and balance with the menu; prefer SVG, or PNG at double the displayed resolution for high-density screens, and keep the file light.
  • Favicon and app icons: common favicon sizes are 16×16, 32×32 and 48×48 pixels, with larger square versions such as 180×180 and 512×512 for home-screen shortcuts. Use a simplified icon rather than the full logo.
  • Social media: upload a high-resolution square image with generous margins because many platforms crop profile pictures into circles. Check each platform’s current guidelines.
  • Print: follow the minimum size and clear-space rules defined in the identity guideline.

Common mistakes include stretching a single PNG everywhere, distorting proportions and ignoring clear space. Racoun delivers logo output sets for web, favicon, social media, print and signage, with minimum size rules documented.
