Instagram ads are rejected when they break Meta’s advertising standards. Every ad, including its targeting and landing page, is reviewed, and ads already running can be re-reviewed.
- Personal attributes: copy implying you know a user’s health, weight, finances, religion or similar traits.
- Misleading claims: guaranteed results, fake discounts, unauthorized celebrity use, unverifiable health claims.
- Before-and-after images and negative body image.
- Prohibited or restricted products: alcohol, supplements, health services, financial products, crypto, gambling, dating.
- Missing special ad category for credit, employment, housing or social issues.
- Landing page issues, intellectual property violations and low-quality design.
To fix a rejection, read the notice and the cited policy, edit the ad or request a review if you believe it complies, and avoid resubmitting unchanged ads, which can lead to account restrictions. Policies change often, so check the platform’s current rules and get legal advice for regulated sectors. Racoun reviews copy and creatives for policy compliance before launch.
