If you sell online regularly and for profit, Turkish tax rules treat it as a commercial activity, so you need a tax registration, usually via a sole proprietorship or a limited or joint-stock company.
- Banks and payment providers ask for a tax certificate before granting a virtual POS.
- Most marketplaces require a tax number and company details from sellers.
- You must issue invoices or e-archive invoices to customers.
- A sole proprietorship is quicker and lighter to run; a limited company offers a corporate structure and limited liability.
- Handmade products made at home may qualify for a conditional tradesman exemption.
