How to Do an SEO Audit?

An SEO audit systematically reviews technical health, indexing, on-page optimisation, content quality, backlinks, competitors and performance data, then turns findings into a prioritised action list.

An SEO audit explains why your site ranks where it does and what to fix first.

  1. Check that analytics, Search Console and conversion tracking are correct.
  2. Review performance trends by page and query.
  3. Inspect indexing: which pages are included or excluded, and why.
  4. Crawl the site for broken links, redirect chains, wrong canonicals and duplicate titles.
  5. Measure speed, Core Web Vitals and mobile usability.
  6. Evaluate titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, alt text and structured data.
  7. Analyse content for thin, outdated, duplicate or cannibalising pages.
  8. Review the backlink profile and compare with competitors.
  9. Prioritise findings by impact and effort.

A good report includes evidence, reasons, concrete fixes, owners and success metrics. Racoun prepares prioritised audits and, with its in-house development team, can also implement the fixes.
