To set up a sole proprietorship for e-commerce in Turkey:
- Work with an accountant to choose an online retail activity code and a business address; a home address is often accepted.
- File a start-of-business notice with the tax office, directly or through its digital services.
- Complete the workplace inspection and register with the relevant chamber or trade registry.
- Social security for self-employed people starts with the tax registration.
- Set up books, e-archive invoicing and an e-signature or financial seal as required.
- Download your tax certificate, open a business bank account, apply for a virtual POS and register with the national e-commerce information system.
Rules and incentives change, so confirm with your accountant. Racoun then builds and integrates the store.
After setup, keep a tax calendar for periodic returns and social security payments.
