In Türkiye, when an influencer promotes a brand in return for payment, free products, discounts, travel or any other benefit, the post must be clearly identified as advertising. The disclosure should appear at the very start of the content, visible without extra clicks, using plain Turkish terms such as “Reklam” or “İş birliği”.
- Where it applies: paid posts and videos, gifted products, affiliate links and codes, sponsored trips and events, ambassadorships and the creator’s own undisclosed business interests.
- How to disclose: at the start, not hidden among hashtags, legible on images and stories, spoken and shown at the start of videos and repeated in long videos or live streams.
- Responsibility: advertisers and agencies can be held responsible alongside creators.
This is general information; rules and decisions by the Advertising Board evolve, so confirm the current position with your lawyer and check platform rules. Racoun builds disclosure into contracts, briefs and pre-publication checks for every collaboration it manages.
