Short answer: ChatGPT ads have no keywords or negative keywords. Ads are matched to the context of the conversation, and advertisers describe their offer with free-text context hints at the ad group level: what the product is, who it is for and when it helps. Location, platform and custom audiences are handled in campaign and ad group settings.
Writing context hints
A strong hint reads like a short brief for a sales advisor, not a keyword list. For a home textile store, “cotton duvet sets for people moving into a new home or looking for natural fabrics for sensitive skin” works better than a list of product terms. Keep geography out of hints and never describe prohibited products indirectly.
Audiences and bidding
Location is set at campaign level, and iOS, Android and web can be targeted. Custom audiences built from email or phone lists can be included or excluded, with bid multipliers from 0.1x to 10x. Uploading customer lists requires proper consent under Turkish data protection law (KVKK).
Ad copy
Headlines are limited to 50 characters and descriptions to 100, with a square image of at least 256 px. Creative enhancements, on by default since 30 October 2026, can rewrite copy and send users to other pages on your site, so manage this setting deliberately.
